Hello,
We love bocce. And we love New York. So we started a blog about playing bocce in New York. When we first started playing bocce, we were in college, and the rural setting of our school proved an idyllic environment for endless afternoon bocce games. Now we are back in the big city, far from our bucolic bocce origins. What were we to do? How could we engage in our favorite past time in the midst of the concrete jungle? Fear not. Urban Bocce Blog was created to give us an excuse to explore the many potential spaces to bocce-it-up in New York, as well as share them with friends and followers.

Those seemingly endless afternoons fueled a lifestyle that seems untouched by many. Certainly the Valley can be idealized, but damn! Anyhow, there is a natural translation between the ideals we discovered out on those rolling hills and the hard knock lessons the city doles out down south. I for one am endlessly happy to have a more formal documentation of what might be one of the best off-court bocce courses ever. By the way, we still need to formalize a name for this sport that I think we pretty much created; not going to do the research on that for fear of it being untrue, but we most def gave it class. And terms, and structure; and class. So, in the spirit of compiling the many aspects of the urban bocce lifestyle, I'll be reporting from the western front, and all things involving balling by the bay. Look forward for such places as the O.G.G. Epic Steps, the Holly Park Harrumph, Beastly Bernal Mountain Course, and many more to come. Because it's crazy as balls out there, so let's grab 'em and roll.
